     It takes a village to dream, design, and implement a web site.  I owe many thanks to:

Bruce Balan who coaxed me onto the web in 1997.  Bruce is the author of one of my favorite books (Buoy) and his philosophy of the web experience being one of sharing with others has guided me ever since. 

Haemi Balgassi who was also one of the early web "pioneers" and graciously shared her expertise to help get me started "html-ing".  Her heartfelt picture book, Peacebound Trains, is a "must-read."

Mike Colgin who taught me more about html code than I ever wanted to know and was (usually!) patient while we upgraded this site. Not only did he create the buttons and "frames" but check out some of his creative Flash designs, including a locker that opens, a book where the pages turn.

Lynne T. Whaley whose ability to think "out of the box" - in combination with her practical organizational skills - and delicious sense of humor - inspires me always.

I hate cookies! 

No, not chocolate chip cookies, but those sneaky little "gizmos" web sites store on our computer hard drives so they can track our web surfing habits.  

I visualize the web like a library — one should be free to browse.  Imagine a "Big Brother" leaning over our shoulder recording every page in every book we flipped through at the library.

So, why am I telling you this? Because I extend my same strong feelings about our right to privacy to your visit to this site. 

The only e-mail addresses collected are those provided voluntarily. The Guest Book page clearly states that e-mail addresses will be used only to notify visitors when this site is updated. These addresses are not sold, rented, or shared with anyone.

I respect the privacy of my visitors — no cookies — no junk mail — no unsolicited mailings!

This site does have links to other sites on the internet. I've done my best to preview their content with my young visitors in mind and am very careful about the links I choose.  However, Internet content changes constantly and I can't guarantee the integrity of any site other than my own.
